SC to Karnataka Govt: How can wheelchair-bound Madani be a threat ? New Delhi: The Supreme Court today sought Karnataka government's response on the bail plea of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, an accused in 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case, with the presiding judge wondering how a wheel chair-bound person could pose a threat if released on bail. A bench of Justice Markandeya Katju and Justice Gyan Sudha Misra asked the state to respond within a week and posted the matter for April 29. Two persons were killed and 20 injured when serial blasts rocked Bangalore city in nine locations in 2008. During the brief hearing, Justice Katju wondered how a person whose leg is amputated and lives with the help of wheel chair could pose a threat if granted bail. However, Justice Misra pointed out that the accused was facing the serious charge of being involved in the blasts which claimed lives. Spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba passes away... Length:  ‎1:21 HYDERABAD/PUTTAPARTHI: Sathya Sai Baba, who had millions of followers across the world, is no more. Baba's heart stopped beating at 7.28 am on Sunday morning.  He had been on ventilator support for many days with all his vital parameters failing. He was being treated at the super speciality hospital that he himself had created for the masses. Doctors confirmed that Sai Baba died of cardio-respiratory failure. Baba's body will be kept for darshan at Sai Kulwant Hall in  Puttaparthi  for two days - Monday and Tuesday. Arrangements will be made for darshan after 6:00 pm today at the hall. About 4 lakh people are expected to come to Puttaparthi, a small town of 25,000 in Andhra Pradesh's Ananatpur district. This includes VVIPs, VIPs and common devotees from across the globe and India. Famous playback singer K S Chitra's only daughter Nandana, 8, died in a swimming pool mishap in Dubai on Thursday. It is learnt that Nandana fell into the swimming pool attached to the Emirate Hills villa and died. Though she was rushed to a private hospital her life could not be saved. The body of Nandana will be brought to Chennai on Thursday night at around 9. Chitra had gone to Dubai along with her family members to take part in a stage show by A R Rahman.
