We are in the blessed days of Muharram, one of the sacred months in Islam. The 9th (Taasu’a) and 10th (Aashura) of Muharram hold special significance. It’s a time to remember history, increase our good deeds, and seek forgiveness. ✨ Why is Aashura special? • The Prophet Musa (Moses) A.S and Bani Israel were saved from Pharaoh on this day. • The Prophet Muhammad Musthafa ﷺ encouraged fasting on Aashura and said it expiates sins of the past year. • Fasting on 9th & 10th (or 10th & 11th) is recommended to distinguish from the practice of Jews who fasted only on the 10th. 🕌 Aashura also reminds us of the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (رضي الله عنه) and the tragedy of Karbala.
